The holidays at the Shapiros

Charlie rides the school bus: Sam was not allowed to ride on the school bus until 1st grade. I don't know why that year was the magic year, but no seatbelts...so Sam couldn't ride the bus for fieldtrips. And he couldn't just not ride the bus, but I made a huge deal about safety and car seats and seatbelts to the other parents and teachers (the preschool teachers remember and were shocked that Charlie was riding the bus ). Charlie, the third child, rode his first bus at age 3 from preschool to the Grand Wailea Resort for his holiday show rehearsal. He's been longingly watch Sam and Haley take a bus to camp every day for 2 summers, and he finally got his shot. He loved it! And we both survived.
Aunty Nancy took Charlie to his holiday show since Sam and Haley's was the same night. He had a great time, and he got a present grom Santa. This snowglobe has been a most treasured item in our house. He calls it his present from San-ta.

My mom has been here for the past few weeks. She got sick just off hte plane and spent the first week in bed. Fun vacation. But she finally startedg etting better, so we've been able to go to the beach, Lahaina, and Ari and I have been able to have extra date nights.

Guitar Hero, full band has become our new obsession. We have to close all our windows becuase none of us should be singing through a microphone. Livin' on a Prayer is the Shapiro family song, and we all fight over who gets to sing it when we play. My other favorite to sing is Eye of the Tiger. If you're on Maui and want to play, just call us. Below is Ari's dad...who really is a good singer.
Ari's parents were around for most of Hanukkah. We got to play, eat latkes and just spend time together.
